Check-in is between 16:00 and 22:00 (unless by prior arrangement). Please feel free to arrive early and enjoy our facilities until reception opens at 16:00. Please contact the hostel if you need to arrange check-later than 22:00.
Check-out is at 10:00am from pods and bunkhouse beds and rooms. Guests are asked to remove all their belongings from their room and also from the locker they may have used within the room. On check-out guests are required to return their keys to reception.
If a booking is cancelled 7 or more days before arrival then 90% of the total balance will be refunded.
If less than 7 days of notice are given, a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. No-shows will be charged for the full booking amount.
Please note that if you are booking for 8 or more people group booking policies apply.
The Cowshed welcomes group bookings. Our definition of a ‘group booking’ is a party of more than 8 people. To make a Group Booking Enquiry please fill out the Group Booking enquiry form or contact the hostel and our helpful staff will be happy to assist you..
Unfortunately we cannot accept any bookings from stag or hen parties.
The Cowshed is available for Private Hire. If you wish to book the entire property for your group please contact us directly for Rates and Terms & Conditions.
We welcome children to our hostel but ask that they be supervised at all times. Children under 5 years of age cannot be accommodated in shared rooms, only in private rooms. Please advise the hostel if you require a portable cot. If you have any concerns or queries, please feel free to contact us.
Dogs are allowed in all our pods. If you would like a pod within a fenced area please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times.
Please contact the hostel if you wish to make any amendments to your booking. We will try our best to accommodate your amendments subject to availability.
We cannot accommodate late check-out or early check-in, however you are welcome to wait in our bunkhouse common area prior to check-in. You may also leave your bags in our laundry room on either side of your stay if you would like to set out and explore the area.
We do not offer breakfast or have an on-site restaurant, but the kitchen in the bunkhouse is available for use by all guests. From 8-10am and 5-10pm the gas is on for you to use the stoves and ovens, and there are kettles, a microwave, and a toaster you may use at any time. We provide tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and oil. It is possible to purchase snacks, drinks, and some simple grocery items such as pasta or noodles from our little store at reception.
The bunkhouse is wheelchair accessible, which includes the bunk rooms, kitchen and dining room, living space and one designated bathroom. If you would prefer a lower bunk during your stay please let us know in advance. Our pods are all on the hill behind the bunkhouse and reaching them requires navigating gravel stairs on the hillside.
